If you can't sign in but could in the past, I may have accidentally deleted your account. You'll have to reregister, notify an admin (Ceridwen, Kushiel or Miriam), and we'll restore your access.

Oh yes! I've banned one account now! I deleted him, he remade, I deleted...
So out comes the banhammer! If this doesn't work, I'll see about banning any e-mail from that specific address. About 30% of our spam comes from one spot, anyway.

I cleaned up accounts again today. If you were cleared out by mistake (and I doubt I deleted Skarlette again, or anyone else who is a real member), please reregister and let an officer know.

You can create a new rank, make the rank unable to send out PMs, and set it as the default rank for anyone new who joins. When real people actually join, promote them. And once a month, or something, delete all of the accounts that aren't promoted to keep it form being filled with bots.
Plus, there's about a million and one addons, mods, and hacks for phpBB, and I bet at least half of them are anti-spambot protection.
